The Truth-Telling Villain
Once upon a time, in a quiet little town, there lived a man named Mr. Grimm. Mr. Grimm was very clever, but he had a dark secret. He was a serial killer who had been committing terrible crimes for many years.
Despite his evil deeds, there was something very unusual about Mr. Grimm: he couldn’t tell a lie. Whenever he spoke, he always told the truth.
One day, the townspeople had enough. They captured Mr. Grimm and took him to court.
The judge, who was known for being very wise, looked at Mr. Grimm and said,
“Mr. Grimm, we know you have committed many terrible crimes. Tell us, are you guilty?”
Mr. Grimm, with a calm smile, replied, “Yes, Your Honor. I have done everything you accuse me of.”
The townspeople gasped. They couldn’t believe he admitted it so easily! But then, Mr. Grimm’s lawyer, who was also very clever, stood up.
“Your Honor,” said the lawyer, “my client, Mr. Grimm, always tells the truth. But there is something more important you should know.
All the evidence against him has disappeared! Without evidence, you cannot prove he did anything wrong.”
The judge frowned. He knew the lawyer was right. No matter what Mr. Grimm said, without evidence, they couldn’t keep him in jail. The judge had no choice but to let Mr. Grimm go free.
The townspeople were very upset, but the law was the law. Mr. Grimm walked out of the courthouse a free man, with a mysterious smile on his face.
And though the town was never quite the same, they learned a valuable lesson about justice and the importance of evidence. And Mr. Grimm? He was never seen again.
